Callbacks are powerful but dangerous when nested — they create the "Pyramid of Doom" and surrender control of your code to functions you don't own.
Overview
Callbacks are the foundation of async JavaScript. Without them, we couldn't do timers, fetch data, or respond to events. But callbacks have two significant problems when used for sequential async operations: Callback Hell (deeply nested code that becomes unreadable) and Inversion of Control (you lose control of when and how your callback is called).
These problems are what motivated the creation of Promises.

Problem 2: Inversion of Control
When you pass a callback to a third-party function, you hand control of your callback's execution to that function. You trust that it will:
- Call your callback exactly once (not zero times, not multiple times)
- Call it at the right time
- Pass the correct arguments
- Not swallow errors
This trust is fragile. You have no guarantee. This is inversion of control — you've inverted who controls the execution of your code.

Why This Matters
